Mariah is now 3 months and 4 lbs. even. She had eye surgery (again) on May 23rd to cauterize the ROP random eye vessels that were regrowing. This time (like during her first eye operation on May 9th {when her heart stopped beating and they put her on a heart monitor} she stopped breathing and they had to put her back on oxygen. Such a tiny thing to be fighting constantly to live, dying, being revived, etc.
They are now trying to wean her from feeding tubes, teaching her how to nurse from a bottle. Hopefully she will be released when she turns 4 months IF she then weighs 5 lbs.
She will be on oxygen and a heart monitor for the first year at home.
Thanks so much for continuing to be with me during all this. I'm so tired of 'emergencies'--Sherry's dad--my ex had his 3rd heart attack (in Tenn.) and while en route to a cardiac center, had 2 more.
With it being summer, relatives are also coming to visit so have no 'off' time.
Thank you all for caring
