Wishful Thinking

Post by mystery » Sat Jul 25, 2009 1:40 pm

Long lace curtains billow in the evening breeze
Wafting in the scent of a honeysuckle night,
Darkening blue skies flirt with pink dusk clouds
A choir of birds take their last cool flight.

In with the breeze blow thoughts of you.
I close my eyes and dream a sweet dream,
Honeyed twilight enfolds this vision
And you stand here beside me it seems.

But it was only my own wishful thinking
That had you bend and kiss my hand.
It was not your soft hair that tickled
But still I touch where your kisses land.

The moon kisses the sun goodbye,
Farewell until a new dawn will awaken.
Another day towards new horizons
And all demon ills gladly forsaken.

Dream with me my love tonight.
Meet me by a pool so deep,
Swim with me in loves embrace
And hold me close please while I sleep.

hi baby,

hope your enjoying your holiday, I'm missing you..

seems to me that today you stand at one end of the Atlantic and I the other, we both are guilty of wishful thinking, wishing those waves could crash in on the miles that seperate us thereby bringing us closer together... We both know that it will only be a matter of time.

I love this poem, I think it is one of my favorites you wrote me. The sadness inside is reflected in my own poetry for you. One day we will write poetry together, from the same desk, and there will not be a drop of sadness in it.

could I walk on water, I would be in your arms right now...

your D..

Ohhhhh....!!! Remember when I said I thought I was in love ?? I still am....with the way your fabulous mind writes these fabulous poems, Mystery !!! Friend Daniel is a lucky human being to have collaboration with you ....not to mention love ... in his future !! On the other side of that coin, girl....you are one lucky woman to have our Daniel bring the same attributes to share with you as well. Good gosh...when y'all get together, the poetry is going to be SOMETHING ELSE !!! I have one thing to say to ye, woman....don't be dallyin' with our Daniel !! He is very important to us, you know...we love him mightily here and if anything goes sour....Daniel, the animal troops are ready to move down in south Florida. We know how to do it, right ???

So, with the threat of animal takeover, I now breathe a deep breath and say again, Mystery...just fabulous writing. I am so sucked in with you imagery...I am THIS CLOSE to proclaiming you the Image Queen of NetHugs...lol !!!

Love, Linda :D
Always be kind and fair; it all comes back to you in time ! Image

Wow! Such beautiful verse. Great imagination, and touching inspiration.
The last four lines really impressed me.
