~THE HIGH SEAS OF LOVE~PART I OF SAGA

Post by wvhillbilly47 »

~THE HIGH SEAS OF LOVE~ Image

We are suspended in this moment of intrigue that I shall never forget;
As, churning water rushes in from the sea from its rest of long regret.
The moon, casts shadows of soft light, through a raven shrouded sky.
The stars twinkle with a message of love, as safe in your arms, I sigh.

We have built a fire of passion that shall flicker on through the night.
You look at me with eyes revealing longing, as you embrace me tight.
The rhythm of rolling waves soothes now the worries, that I once had.
When, I had sought to find if you would ever return; as life waxed sad.

On the high seas of love you had set sail, with tears of seasons ago;
And, as you sailed to different ports, your destination I did not know.
Surely, you found hidden treasure locked in chests fashioned of gold.
Part of your quest to search for mysteries that remained then untold.

I had waited patiently here for you, as daily tides rolled in; back out.
My voice was released into the sea's winds, as your name I did shout.
I studied every ship that I would see drifting far out on water's deep.
For, this aching heart of mine did on every wave, your love still seek.

I knew not if you would return to this shore to hold me in arms tight.
Yet, I had pledged my love to you; of that I could not ever lose sight.
And, as long days and nights all floated away, and you did not return;
My spirit continued to search for you, as my body for you did yearn.

Then on the distant horizon, I caught a glimpse of a ship sailing in;
Its sails were unfurled, blowing full in swift breezes; "Was it him"!
Each wave that rolled brought this vessel of love yet closer to me;
Then I saw written on its sails, these words, "I now come to thee!"

I ran to meet you as you stepped from the high ship to the shore;
And, at that moment, I knew we were destined to love once more.
Our sultry fire of passion burned brighter in love, as we reunited,
And, your ship set sail without you as we kissed through the night!

My Captain of the high seas of love, you did come sailing back;
You left treasures on distant shores, because my love you lacked.
And, your ship with its sails unfurled, drifts along now in the wind;
Floating on, destination unknown, as you'll eternity with me spend!

Methinks you ought to be writing Period Pieces, Sheila: romances with historical backgrounds. (I really think you could do well with it; you certainly know how to do the research for such!)

I could see this as part of a romantical novel of the days of yore. Think about it. You certainly know how to paint a portrait of heart-longing!

WOW! I agree! When you become a famous novelist don't forget about us. LOL! I used to read a lot of romances when I was a teenager and this has the makings of a Harlequin for sure. You are the "goddess of the love poem"

Hello Roy!
So, "methinks" I should be writing a romance story....well, that is something I have thought about...I'll just listen to a lot of Tina Turner, and and other inspiring crooners and see what I can do. I'll have to check out these Nora Roberts romance novels
Thanks for your encouragement! That is my only problem with doing one....I am so dang hard on myself that I might wimp out and not finish it, but, I won't know unless I try.....just like the poetry!
Several years ago, I had considered doing one about a mother, and her children with names, like "Messie Bessie", and "Roy, The Destroy"...tee hee...just added that one in....and, Maddy Saddy...and do an emotion based story, but that is long gone. I have their names somewhere.
I think I will stick to the love writes, and I love the castle, and kings, and queens, and knights, and pirates, and tall ships, and, and, I should be able to capture something in the tower of love!
Thanks!

The violin and its love strings were calling me to hear its serenade!
And, as it played on, sweet notes of love, my emptiness, did replace!
As, the bow glided across the strings, a symphony of sounds joined in,
And, tokens of the truest kind, rested on me as the winds did descend!
and.....???????

Dearest Sheila, :D

The Lady of Love strikes again. :lol: :lol: This is a beautiful poetic story... sure sounds like the middle and/or the ending of a great romance novel to me. ...now you just have to write the beginning. :wink:

Yep, I do agree with Roy too. I really enjoyed this one.

Dearest Ellen!
Wow, I am going to have to come up with that beginning...now where do I start???
Dreams watch out tonight...tee hee!

I am glad you liked this seafaring adventure of love!

The love in this is one of cosmic proportions, as ~The Ship of Love on The High Seas~ is covered with moondust that has been released from a full moon shining down on them!.....one that has the man in the moon winking and smiling, as the Lady in the Moon throws kisses at them!

Hi there my good friend,

This is wonderful. It reminds me of the lyric's to the song Brandy (Your a fine girl) as recorded by the band "Looking Glass" in the 1970's (which is one of my favorite songs in the WORLD).

The sea, in all it's mystery, has kept many a love seperated. In some ways, being to wife of a sailor was like being the wife of a soldier. You never knew if something would happen.

So strong was the lure of the ocean that many a man could never give it up. However, I like a happy ending and I am glad that the man in your poem did choose his love over the many treasures beyond the horizen.

Your pictures you choose always fit soo well.

Take care and I hope your weekend has been everything you wanted.

Sheila, I hope I didn't get carried away (or perhaps the poem itself carried me away)! The picture made me think fantasy; Moondust, dragons, wizards, and Aphrodite. She was the goddess of love and all the gods of mythology would have done anything for her love in return. I'm sure that Neptune would have even abandoned the sea for her! What a lovely picture that inspired your beautiful poem! (((HUGS)))

Hello Daniel!
Yes, the sea has an allure that does draw many a seafaring soul to wander along for a lifetime! I wanted the lover to return to her, to show that a love can be strong enough to withstand even something as powerful as that of the sea, and all its beauty!
I like doing these kind of writes, and I plan to do more. As always, I am appreciative of your comments...and, you always teach me something with your remarks!....and the
music of the spirit plays on as they embrace on the shores of love! Image
