~ Thanksgiving Days ~

Thanksgiving Day we celebrate
Home and family
All that we are blessed to share
Now remembered thankfully
Kindnesses of those we love
Shared throughout the years
Giving of themselves to us
In times of joy or tears
Varied blessings day to day
Insuring we are loved
New and old, we now recall
Giving thanks to God above
Days gone by but held so dear
And always will be part
Year after year with all we love
So thankful is our heart

You write what thanksgiving is all about so beautifully. The hearts are where thanksgiving comes from and I'm sure those hearts of your family, relatives and friends are filled with love and joy like you describe in the poem. Happy thanksgiving!

Marlys, You perfectly pen what Thanksgiving should be about!!! Unfortunately some families are too busy fighting, watching football, and stuffing themselves fatter than the turkey to be thankful for anything!!! Despite the grave seriousness of the problems facing our nation; we as a people have so very much to be thankful for. Two days in Africa would convince the poorest American that we are truely blessed. This would make a very lovely e-card!!!! (((Jeanette)))

First of all, Helen, I thought turkey's are where thankfulness comes from! Just kidding...but really, I like that, if thankfulness isn't in our heart, it can't go no place else. hee hee. Helen's so cute!

Marlys, I enjoyed your picture and your wonderful poem of Thankfulness for this great Season! I agree with Jeanette: it would make a lovely e-card. -Dawn

So true Jeanette!
Some don't even want the bother of preparing a dinner, any day let alone a big Thanksgiving meal..
Many just go out or get themselves invited for a freebe!

I've been hosting mine for 42 years now..It will be soon though, that my daughters will trade off
Now, I'm not saying that I don't love my football games and pumpkin pie!
but my favorite part of our tradition, is when we all hold hands in a circle of prayer, and one member of each family unite(once your married) says a prayer of Thanksgiving for his/her family!
We always cry!!!

Be blessed and may God keep you and all you love!

Thank you Jan! What a sweet friend you have always been to me!
remember the countless hours and days of playing games here? I loved it so much!
I don't know if I ever told you that I was going through some very trying times in my life at that time?
Those games helped me to laugh and take my weary mind of of sad things for a while!
I thank you again for being there for me!

Thank you Jeff!

Regardless of trials in our lives, we all have things to be thankful for...
After all, it is the life God chose for us, the good, the bad and the ugly at times!

What a beautiful Thanksgiving poem Marlys, and I love the style. Just a super write from your heart to your pen to share with us. I love it. Thank you for the gift. Be blessed. I don't put graphics on these comments becasuse I don't know how to. Since the new layout was installed, when . . . well, just a minute! That is what I get. Thank you.
