There he stood
Each night upon the stage
Singing each of his songs
From his memories page

Hitting every note
With his baritone voice
The fans fell in love
Wasn't like they had a choice

His band knew every note
From playing those same songs
Some where of happy times
Others,of when love went wrong

The women went wild
They let out with screams
When he's sing "Hello Darlin"
The crowds would go to extremes

At times the crowd would get quiet
Each time he'd begin to sing
Then at the end of each song
The crowd cheered with a loud ring

As he stood there on stage
One could "see the want to in his eyes"
You could tell he loved his job
Singing for all the girls and guys

Too many new ones today
Should learn more from his songs
Listen closer to his music
Instead of doing country music wrong

He even did some bluegrass songs
Like he was saying "this is part of our roots"
And like he said in "don't call him a cowboy"
They're not real, just because of their hats and boots"

Though we'll still miss him
His music will live on-and-on
As long as we keep playing his music
His legacy will never be gone

So here's to his fans
Where ever you maybe country or city
You'll find "you've never been this far before"
May you feel blessed listening to Conway Twitty
