Silent Suffreing

Silent Suffering

Deep in the hearts of all mankind
Is the need to be understood
To be a treasure in someone’s heart
And be treated kindly as they think they should.

Thank God for those for whom this is true
In their life and their home every day;
Who are patient and kind to the family they love
And are treated likewise, in every way

But oh, the pain that some must bear,
When no matter how hard they try,
The house that’s supposed to be a haven, safe
Is frequently a place where they suffer and cry.

Sadly, there’’s many of God’s precious children
Who in their own home bear the terrible strain…
Being often afflicted with cruelty and stress,
That crushes the heart and wearies the brain.

This abuse is inflicted by someone they love,
Who live only for them self in their own selfish way;
Never taking heed of the pain they are causing,
They grow harsher and angrier day after day.

Why must it be, that this kind of pain…
Most often the victims keep hidden inside
Too ashamed to share it with family or friends;
They feel they have no one in which to confide.

Why do they feel they must suffer alone;
The emotional and mental abuse they bear;
While those with health issues and bodily pain
Easily reach out to others and share.

How sad God must be to see this pain
And feel the agony of a heart so broken;
To see the despair in the lonely soul
Who suffers alone, their needs never spoken

But nothing can ever be hidden from God
Who feels their pain… sees each tearful face
Sees emotional scars that others don’t see
That can only be healed with His loving grace.

May people who suffer any form of abuse
Look up to the Lord with whom they can share
Every fear, every pain that pierces their heart…
He’s a Shelter and will keep them safe in His care.

The Hand of the Lord will work through others,
To bring to the suffering…, love, peace and hope.
Through people who’ll listen when a friend is needed;
Who will pray and uphold them as they’re trying to cope.
