Dark, moody skies
warn of autumn's arrival.
Gusty winds blow angry
as tree's bend in staunch survival.

Splendors golden, and red—
orange leaves that twist and turn
must soon say farewell
in great piles that we burn.

Trees standing naked—
now dormant through the season.
Freezing temps with icy snows
make us question nature’s reason.

Yes, autumns will come and go
with great colors I truly love.
I give thanks for their creator—
beauty from our Lord above.
