Deep In The Night

Deep In The Night

Deep in the night
The stars shine bright
As the wind stands still
Then a breeze blow in a chill

Then all is calm for now
In the distance there's a moo from a cow
Then, dogs start barking their form of words
Letting each other know, exactly what they heard

A hoot-owl hoots his call
Off in the distance, but heard by all
A coyote yelps and more pitch in
And soon their chorus is in harmony again

Yes, deep in the night
Where the stars shine so bright
The wiper-will soon starts its song
If you listen closely you hear words in that song

The sky looks black, this time of night
But, to watch the Heavens, is a pure delight
Someone once said that words are cheap
But, right here on this porch swing I can fall asleep

TO SOME WE SEEM LIKE A FOOL
BUT OUR WORDS OF POETRY
IS JUST OUR EXPESSION TOOL
