The Wild Turkey

You come awake
At each morning light
Waking up the woods
As you gobble with delight

You roost in the trees
Out of dangers of all kinds
You have all the colors
To blow away any ones minds

When you're in full strut
You're an awesome sight
You gobble to challenge
Each other for a fight

With feathers all fanned out
Your tail making that sound
Letting all the other birds
That the king of birds is around

Your hens come in to you
At each marked out spot
And each night you pick
A new roosting spot

Up in the trees you roost
Again until the break of dawn
And from your birds eye view
You watch the birth of a fawn

With other animals
You share the woods
Watching out for each other
All for your lively hood

So go rest in your roost
Watch out for the likes of man
Gobble your little hearts out
Try to live as long as you can

TO SOME WE SEEM LIKE A GENIOUS
TO SOME WE SEEM LIKE A FOOL
BUT OUR WORDS OF POETRY
IS JUST OUR EXPESSION TOOL
