A CHRISTMAS MEMORY TREE

A CHRISTMAS MEMORY TREE

Here stands my Christmas tree,

In the middle of the room,

Filled with lots of bloom.

The branches are all waiting there,

For decorations way beyond compare…

First I’ll put the lights all around my tree,

All different colors, the little sparkling kind.

Next comes the garland, all bright and shiny,

I wind it upon each branch I find.

I have these pretty snowflakes, they go next,

Before the candy canes and wooden toys.

Gosh, the golden stars, I can’t forget…

And little bells that make a joyful noise.

The tinsel is now hanging, so pretty in the lights,

My tree is looking pretty good by now.

Yet I have something waiting,

So special it comes last.

A special box within my heart,

That holds the loves I have,

From Christmas past.

And with a sigh, or a smile, up they go.

A branch for every one so I can see,

The memory of each special one comes

Straight from my heart.

And in each Christmas they will always,

Hold a special part.

Now, here stands my Christmas tree,

In the middle of the room,

Filled with lots of bloom.

And all the branches that were waiting there,

Are filled with decorations, precious decorations,

That in my heart will always be

Held way beyond compare.

Merry Christmas to all...

How delightful, Linda. Most of us have decorations that we have save from Christmas' past.
I have a Christmas bulb, that has a picture of my children on it. You poem is so cheerful and bright.
It bring out the spirit of Christmas in me. Love you girl, may your Christmas be so very blessed.

Love and Hugs, Jan ))(( )))(((

Oh I love the picture of your Christmas tree Lindy, and you described it so very well in your poem verses. I could really picture the tree in mind. Joyce put ours up tonight as well, well we put the tree up yesterday and she decorated it tonight. She hasn't put the crib scene down on the floor beneath it yet. I am sure that she will get to that by the weekend. And you might have your crib scene up by then also.  hint, hint. But then, you might have to add another verse to your already lovely poem. GLYASDSI

OH, EVERYBODY....WHAT WONDERFUL COMMENTS ON THIS POEM. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR SHARING YOUR OWN THOUGHTS HERE, TOO. NOW, I BELIEVE, I SHALL LOOK AT MY TREE AND EACH BLINKING LIGHT WILL BE THE SMILE OF A YOUNG CHILD GONE TO HEAVEN TO BE WITH OUR LORD, JESUS CHRIST. AND OTHER BLINKING LIGHTS AND TWINKLES I SEE WILL BE FOR THE FAMILIES WHO HAVE LOST THEIR LIGHT ON EARTH AND NOW MUST TRY TO HOLD ONTO THE LIGHT OF THE LORD TO SUSTAIN THEM AT THIS TIME AND IN THE TIMES TO COME. FATHER, PLEASE SHOW THEM YOUR LOVE AND MAY THEY KNOW IN THEIR BROKEN HEARTS, SOMEWHERE, THAT THEIR BABIES ARE NOW SAFE WITH YOU....AND THAT THIS IS THE WAY OF IT.

GOD BLESS US, EVERYONE...LOVE, LINDA
