She Lays Beneath The Clay

She Lays Beneath The Clay

She lays beneath the clay
Where he placed her years ago
Though he thought he got away
But she haunts his very soul

At sometimes he goes mad
Like he did on that very day
When he tried to plea with her
But just could not get his way

He picked up a big rock
And smacked the back of her head
She felt no pain at all
As she instantly fell dead

He dug her a grave there
As he dug way into the night
Thinking he would forget her
But he's haunted by that very sight

At times he sneaks back there
To look at all he has done
What set him off so mad
Out there under that July sun

He had got away with the crime
For well over twenty years
But the haunting was getting to him
Bringing on his biggest fears

Then, one day he walked to the police station
And told about all he had done back then
He lead them to her shallow grave
Now he sits in jail paying for his sin

Some say "It was not enough"
Saying that "He should die too"
But they just don't know about
The hauntings he goes through
