Lending An Ear

Lending An Ear

As I passed a park bench
A pretty lady was in tears
I sat down beside her
To help her with her fears

She said "I don't need no lover,
Tonight I just need a friend
Someone to hold me close
To help this heart to mend

My man ran off and left me
For a girl half my age
Just to put on a big show
Out there on lifes stage

Age is but a number
What matters is in the heart
Since the moment he left
My world has torn a part

I pray to God in Heaven
That he'll soon see the light
That he comes back with his love
And makes everything alright

I don't need another lover
Just a friend to hear me out
To help comfort me and listen
In these time I have doubts"

As I sat and listened
I could feel her pain
And could see every teardrop
Falling down like rain

I told her "I'm so sorry,
For the troubles you're going through
But maybe it's a lifes test
Leading you on to something new!"

She thanked me for listening
Then we parted our ways
After exchanging our hugs
We wished each other brighter days

TO SOME WE SEEM LIKE A GENIOUS
TO SOME WE SEEM LIKE A FOOL
BUT OUR WORDS OF POETRY
IS JUST OUR EXPESSION TOOL
