Her Looking Glass

Her Looking Glass

There she sits at her looking glass
Brushing her hair down her front
Like the mirror is an escape route
As she dreams of things she wants

As she brushes her hair so long
With each stroke of her brush
Brushing it so very slowly
But her mind is in a rush

She dreams of her man
Fighting a war so far away
Praying he'll return to her
And to her arms he'll stay

They were high school sweethearts
They knew love from the start
Though so many struggle to find
Love has kept them bonded in their hearts

She brushes her hair slowly
As she dreams of his love
Holding her oh so close
As she wishes at the stars above

That mirror on the wall
Sees all her pain and wishes too
If it could just answer her
Like those in fairy tales do

Soon he'll return to her
To forever love her more
As soon as he returns
From that distant shore

Until that day she'll sit there
Slowly combing her hair with a love so pure
Always holding onto their love, even if
She has to hold it until they meet on Heavens shore

TO SOME WE SEEM LIKE A FOOL
BUT OUR WORDS OF POETRY
IS JUST OUR EXPESSION TOOL
