A Love So Deep

A Love So Deep

With a dozen roses in his hand
By her grave is where he stands
He misses her so much today
So much more than words can say

She served her country well
Through war, peace, and Hell
She gave birth to his kids
Some never noticed all she did

He kneels by her stone in prayer
Wishing once again she was there
As he laid the roses on her stone
He felt then he was never alone

He loved her so, for all these years
As memories flow, so does his tears
He remembers back at their first meet
Remember her smile, her voice so sweet

Then soon came their wedding day
It was true love so, many did say
Then the children came along
It made his heart play a new song

As he remembers the vows at the start
And feels it was wrong "Till death do us part"
Though she is now long gone we see
She's still in his heart and memory

He takes the roses plants them next to her
Repeats the vows with his love so pure
As he gets up and starts to leave
He can't but help wear his heart on his sleeve

Someday, they'll re-unite once more
When they meet up there on Heavens shore
The there love will have past all tests
And it shall prove it's still the best

Yes he visits with roses in hands
Showing respect and love from one man
If only so many others loved as deep
Then love would always be ours to keep

TO SOME WE SEEM LIKE A GENIOUS
TO SOME WE SEEM LIKE A FOOL
BUT OUR WORDS OF POETRY
IS JUST OUR EXPESSION TOOL
