This Love Of Gold

This Love Of Gold

I bought this ring,so long ago
We were going to marry some day
Then we found you were ill
And cancer took you away

So, here I sit holding your ring
With memories from our past
Now love has became a burning thing
But ours will forever last

Our memories we made were so sweet
Yet here I sit and just cry
Thinking back to our first meet
And have to ask myself, why?

This ring of gold, I hold in my hand
Gripping it with all my might
As teardrops fall upon my hand
I must be one heck of a sight

Though, I feel you sitting here
This is just not the same
For I long to hold you dear
Our love is no game

I reach out for you from time-to-time
Praying you'll come back to me
Before the end of my time
Just one last time, so love can see

This burning love longs for you
Though some may think I'm crazy
But, until I hold you once more
I guess my head will remain hazy

There are those that don't know love
And yet, they want to judge me
Yet, like a bird cage holding a dove
Our love will never no more be free

TO SOME WE SEEM LIKE A GENIOUS
TO SOME WE SEEM LIKE A FOOL
BUT OUR WORDS OF POETRY
IS JUST OUR EXPESSION TOOL
