Buried Letters

I dug up an old wood box
I buried so long ago in the sand
Inside this precious box
Was letters written by your hand

They brought back lots of memories
Both happy as well as sad
We were quite the pair you and I
That even the sad memories weren't so bad

Those letters said so much
Of the love between our hearts
Though here we are at last
So many years and still a part

Oh how time tears at the heart
Even after all this time
The love is still right there
Just as sure as each sun rise

Yes, those letters bring back memories
And my emotions do over flow
As I read the words you wrote
As your pen and heart made them flow

That old box looks like new
Even after being buried all these years
As if it was covered in plastic wrap
Though you're gone, so flows my tears

So as you watch over me
From way up there above
Just remember you left this world
And took with you my true love

TO SOME WE SEEM LIKE A GENIOUS
TO SOME WE SEEM LIKE A FOOL
BUT OUR WORDS OF POETRY
IS JUST OUR EXPESSION TOOL
