She's Growing Older

As she looks in the mirror
Her age begins to show
Will she ever find true love
An answer she'd like to know

She rubs at the wrinkles
There around her eyes
She's been a looker
To a lot of the guys

She runs her fingers
Through her long hair
With a few grey streaks
Running here and there

She cracks a little smile
As she stairs at her self
Time has been her friend
Her love was on a shelf

The few that came to know her
Knew her heart was of gold
No matter what the problem
She was there to console

She thinks back to a boyfriend
That seems like a lifetime ago
When they were going steady
And seen a drive-in movie show

What if he was the one?
That she pushed so far away
Could he have made her happy?
If she would've let him stay

As she thinks of all this
A tear rolls down her cheek
Was she doomed from love?
Or is someone in her future to seek

Only time will tell us
Should true love find her
Will he be a prince charming
Will he be her hearts cure?

She gets ready for bed now
For she must work tomorrow
Just to pay her own bills
She weeps on her pillow in sorrow

Some folks talk about her
Staying single for so long
But she has watched so many others
Fall "in love", doing it all wrong

So she'll sleep each night
Dreaming of her "Mr. Right"
Waking up with a big smile
Long before the morning light

TO SOME WE SEEM LIKE A GENIOUS
TO SOME WE SEEM LIKE A FOOL
BUT OUR WORDS OF POETRY
IS JUST OUR EXPESSION TOOL
