The Light After the Storm
When the storms of life pound me
And I think they’re never ending,
I feel drenched and heavy laden
With dark clouds on me descending.
The thunder rolls and lightning flashes
And the winds are blowing strong,
But I’m reminded the Lord is my Refuge
And run to that Shelter in which I belong.
I wait out the storm, watching for the Light
As clouds break up and are drifting away
Revealing the sunshine that was only hidden
By heavy storms that had darkened my day.
After the storm in my life is over
And my day is sunny and bright;
I praise the Lord for His loving care;
For being my Savior, my Refuge, my Light.
I think there must be a rainbow above,
Though it may be hidden beyond my view,
But somewhere it’s stretched across the sky…
A testimony to the wonderful things God can do.
No storms, no trials, no tribulations
Can overcome God’s grace and power.
Jesus has promised that He’s with us always,
His mercy and love on us He will shower.
No price do we pay, and we need not beg,
For things we receive from God’s loving Hand
Our debts were paid when He died on the cross
No payment from us will He ever demand
He only asks that we honor and love Him
To trust Him on our journey each day …
To seek His will in all that we do …
To read His Word and be faithful to pray.
Traveling through life, there still will be storms
And battles I’m unable to fight,
But Jesus is my Strength each and every day…
In the darkest night He’s my bright shining Light.
