Willingly Christ Suffered

Willingly Christ Suffered

In stillness of soul I sometimes envision
Three crosses at Calvary with all its horror.
I focus on Jesus, the Man in the middle
Dripping with blood in great pain and sorrow.

He was sorry for people who would not accept Him,
And for a world filled with sin and shame.
He gave His life willingly to pay sins debt
Oh, we were the guilty ones, we were to blame.

I have been saved, but like others I’ve denied Him
By ways I have acted or by things I have done.
And there have been times I failed to give praise
For His blessings…and for me, the battles He’s won.

Worthy is the Lord of great honor and glory
Worthy of praise from the depths of my heart.
He was willing to die, give His all for me,
He’s living within me and He’ll never depart.

As I often look back to the blood stained cross
Where Jesus willingly died in my place
I remember His suffering for my soul that was lost,
Bestowing upon me His mercy and grace.

Now, may that mercy, grace and love,
Be revealed in my life throughout every day
And bring honor and glory to His Holy name
Through the way I act and the words that I say.

Willingly Jesus reached out to me in love;
With that love may I reach and help others, I pray..

Wow Shirley, so beautiful, I'm speechless, it really went right to my heart.
I needed it. Thank You Lord for her writings, she really is a loving child of You.
