The Cross He Bore.

Post by Wilmas » Wed Nov 23, 2016 7:06 pm

I want to follow Jesus every single day
I want to know He guides me all along the way,
Knowing that He leads me whatever be the cost
Knowing He will help me- bear my cross.

It may be that hard times will come, in many different ways
My health may not be what it was in far off youthful days,
I may feel my cross is heavier than it ever was before
But it never will be heavier than the cross my Saviour bore.

It may be family gives me grief or loved ones pass away
I may even feel that no one cares no matter what I say,
Then, I remember when I'm down, and hurting more and more
The burden won't be heavier than the one my Savour bore.

I'm thankful I shall never know the agony and loss
That my dear Saviour bore for me on Calvary's cruel cross.
And always when it comes to mind I love Him more and more
For showing how He loved me, by the cross He bravely bore.

So I'll try to follow closer and God helping me I'll stand
Till I meet Him one bright morning in that far off lovely land.
I will gladly fall down at His feet, and praise Him more and more
For saving me, and keeping me when my cross He gladly bore.

Just checking on my Net hug friends this morning. Been a wee while since I wrote. This poem is one of my latest. Wilson and I have recently had our 87th birthday and are fairly well. We are now the G.G.Grandparents to three little girls. Much love to all. God Bless Margaret.
