CLEANSING OF THE TEMPLE

CLEANSING OF THE TEMPLE

When Jesus went into Jerusalem, the Passover was at hand.
Earlier He’d wept over the city; at the temple He took a stand.
It was filled with merchants, animals and money changers too.
With a whip of cords and sleeves rolled up, He knew what to do.

The merchants all cowered when they saw that Jesus had come.
The oxen and the sheep hurriedly took to the street on the run.
Tables overturned, He poured the changer’s money on the floor
“Make not My Father’s House one of merchandise,” He implored.

“What is a sign that You show to us, since You do these things?”
The high priests and merchants’ voices angrily aloud did ring.
He said, “Destroy this temple; in three days I will raise it up.”
They understood not His words; He knew about the bitter cup.

Spiritually their eyes were blind; the high priests could not see
that Jesus was talking about the human body and setting it free.
Jesus knew that cleansing the soul let the body a temple become.
With Him living inside, the body to all evils could not succumb.

Indeed Jesus was most always a gentle, soft-spoken comforter
Yet in cleansing the temple He did battle and showed His anger.
He knew that the religious system had become most corrupt;
at this time He knew He just had to that establishment disrupt.

“But it took forty-six years to build this temple,” they did say.
“Just how are You going to raise it up again in only three days.”
Another spoke, “Besides, things are just fine the way they are.”
“We accommodate our people. To You, now is that so bizzare?

Jesus knew about Himself, in being torn down from the cross
He’d be raised on the third day, giving Himself for a just cause.
He remembered that He had to do the will of His God and Father
and for giving of Himself would come glory forever and forever.

I think about the cleansing of the temple and what it means to me.
That my own body is His temple and His Holy Spirit sets me free.
The New Testament says the Holy of Holies is in the human heart.
With Jesus Christ living in me, from Him I choose not to depart.

Kay, I have had the awesome blessing of viewing and listening to the CD. words fail me. What a tremendous labor of love you have presented for us all. It is a gift for our souls that I will treasure over and over again, and each time will be a renewing of my heart, and a blessing in my life.

Thank you from the bottom of my humbled heart. You listened to that still small voice, and with Him using you, a tremendous outpouring of spirit and blessings has occurred. God bless you!

Dear Pokey: Thank you for your gracious words and I give them all to Him....I just sat as His servant doing His will. For me it was a time of healing as Easter has always been a very sad, sad time for me. This year He showed me beyond the cross and like Mary Magdalene and the disciples, I too fully know the meaning behind He Is Risen.......Blessings on you ..... KayD
