Tip Your Hat To The Person
Tip your hat to the person
sitting behind the desk
You might make their day
And set their burdens to rest
Tip your hat to the person
Sitting behind the wheel
We don't know their story
Or just how they feel
Tip your hat to the person
Wearing that uniform so green
He's fought for his country
Never knowing of their dreams
Tip your hat to the person
Driving those big trucks
It might brighten their day
Even if they are down on luck
Tip your hat to the person
As you pass them on by
We never know their troubles
Unless we stop and ask them why
Tip your hat to the person
Before life passes you by
Then it will be to late
To sit and wander why
Tip your hat to the person
Up on that tractor seat
They are workin to feed others
Both grains as well as meat
Tip your hat to the person
We can't see their inner scars
Just a smile can brighten up
Their day fast as passing cars
Tip your hat to the person
Maybe they'll do the same
This life is way to short
To be burdened with shame
