Murder In The West

Murder In The West

The night of the murder
I was just coming to town
When from inside the bar
There was a yelling sound

Then two men came out the door
They paced their selves apart
Then there was gun play
They were both shot in the heart

Then others came out
And seen me there
Claimed it was my fault
But, I'm innocent I swear

They locked me up
Right here in this cell
In a week I may hang
Because a lie they did tell

I'm just a drifter
Only passing my way through
It seems I was set up
By some crazy fools

It seems that the gunmen
Were best friends at one time
They were both good and drunk
Before I was accused of their crime

In a week I'll hang
For a crime I did not commit
They have tried everything
To get me to admit

So here I sit
Right here in this cell
As each minute passes
It seams like a living Hell

It's driving me crazy
I could almost scream
Then the wife shook me
This was all but a dream

TO SOME WE SEEM LIKE A GENIOUS
TO SOME WE SEEM LIKE A FOOL
BUT OUR WORDS OF POETRY
IS JUST OUR EXPESSION TOOL
