He's Headed Home

He's Headed Home

He's headed home
From a land so far
He might have fame
Not like a movie star

He's coming in his casket
With a flag wrapped all around
While others back home
Are burning many on the ground

They have no respect for those
For those fighting in wars
But sure enjoy the freedom
At home driving fancy cars

He's headed home
To his loved ones today
To bring them some closier
in his own kind of way

He was sent off to war
To fight for Uncle Sam
To protect our freedoms
But many don't give a damn

He was just twenty one
With his life still ahead
But died with his dreams
Locked inside his head

Just a few days until his funeral
Then the twenty one gun sound
As all the loved ones gather
And they place him in the ground

He was just a young soldier
He did not care about any fame
Rather fought for our freedom
While others burn the flag in shame

TO SOME WE SEEM LIKE A GENIOUS
TO SOME WE SEEM LIKE A FOOL
BUT OUR WORDS OF POETRY
IS JUST OUR EXPESSION TOOL
