He's Just A Soldier

He's just a soldier
That fought for this land
So should you meet him
Please shake his hand

He's lived in shelters
He's lived in old cars
He lives with battle wounds
As well as his mental scars

He's just a soldier
That fought for our rights
So we could keep our freedoms
As we sleep good every night

He don't ask for hand-outs
He's always looking for work
Most of the time he's rejected
By some self-rightious jerk

He's just a soldier
And he's some mothers son
Don't look it him that way
He was ordered to carry that gun

Uncle Sam gives the orders
To fight and to defend
Just shake his hand and be thankful
The next time it could be you my friend

Don't burn our flags
It stands for those that have died
Many lives have been lost
And many loved ones have cried

He's not a "killer" per say
Though he killed when he had to
But just thank him today
Because tomorrow it might be you

TO SOME WE SEEM LIKE A GENIOUS
TO SOME WE SEEM LIKE A FOOL
BUT OUR WORDS OF POETRY
IS JUST OUR EXPESSION TOOL
