She Walks These Streets

She Walks These Streets

She walks these streets
Same time every night
Just a little girl
Oh what a glowing sight

So the legend has it
It wasn't something that she did
She was playing with dolls
When the bullet pierced her ribs

Two boys were playing with a gun
Not knowing it was loaded up
And once it went off
It was too late for them to stop

As they ran to her
She was breathing her last breath
As quick as an instant
She was facing death

Now she walks these streets
With her head bowed low
Not understanding what happened
As she walks these streets alone

Yes she was just a baby
At the age of four or maybe five
Had it not been for anothers mistake
There's a chance she could still be alive

Just one little mistake
By two boys playing around
Not old enough to understand
But they are haunted by her gasping sound

Now and then we'll see her
Sitting on that sidewalk playing dolls
And it tears at the heart strings
How suddenly death comes to call

So take care of your babies
And love them while you can
For we just never know
What God has for them in His plans

TO SOME WE SEEM LIKE A GENIOUS
TO SOME WE SEEM LIKE A FOOL
BUT OUR WORDS OF POETRY
IS JUST OUR EXPESSION TOOL
