Waiting On Her Prince Charming

On the lonely side of town
She lays there each night and weeps
Waiting for her soldier to come home
She tosses and turns, trying to catch sleep

Like a little princess
All dressed up in a gown so white
Waiting for her prince charming
To come fill her heart with delight

Through the day she stays busy
To keep her mind busy as a lark
Just trying to pass away the time
Until he returns with his romantic spark

Her heart suddenly jumps a race
Every time there's a knock at the door
Thinking it might be the bad news
Like he won't be coming home anymore

But,someday that war must end
And he might return to her arms again
She prays for peace and his return
So she can have piece of mind once again

Until that day comes around
She might cry herself to sleep each night
While her prince charming
Is off somewhere in another fight

Sometimes she has to take medicine
Just to catch up on some sleep
Because just the thoughts of losing him
Is all it takes to trigger her into a weep

But wait, There's a knock at her door
As she answers it, there stands prince charming
They lock into each others embraces
And the air around them feels like global warming

TO SOME WE SEEM LIKE A FOOL
BUT OUR WORDS OF POETRY
IS JUST OUR EXPESSION TOOL
