A Mourning Doves love

A Mourning Doves Love

Up in the tree top
There sits a dove
Mourning for her mate
That she will always love

Sitting on the branches
Next to her old nest
Where she raised her babies
Up under her breast

Now he has gone on
To heaven on high
Waiting there for her
With his mournful cry

He'll surely be missed
By her lonely old heart
But she'll have those memories
From, when their love did start

She sits there in that tree
Come rain or shine
Calling out for the rains
When nature tells her it's time

Her babies come to see her
Every now and then
And every time they do
They trigger thoughts of him

One day she might find a new mate
But it will never replace his love
She may see many sun rises
Before she's called Above

Yes up in the tree top
As the sunset begins to glow
She awaits for a new day
Until it's her time to go

TO SOME WE SEEM LIKE A GENIOUS
TO SOME WE SEEM LIKE A FOOL
BUT OUR WORDS OF POETRY
IS JUST OUR EXPESSION TOOL

Norman, I like this one also. I love poems about doves and this one is so good! Blessings, Linda :)
