Its been extra lonely these days, with you not here
Sometimes, I think the pain is too hard to bare.
Yesterday may be the past and gone forever
But my heart continually says, Never! Never!

It's funny how life just drifts by before your eyes
The older you get, the faster time flies.
It seems like yesterday that I was a young and innocent
Today, I'm looked at as being old and ancient.

Yesterday we were all together and having fun
Today, I am left all alone, with really noone.
I had friends and family galore to talk to
But that was yesterday, today very few.

Everyone thinks its great to live a long life and be old
I wish I had someone, like old days to take me and hold.
It's not much fun when you know more deceased people than alive
Sometimes, I ask God why He is making me survive?

The friends I do have left, I can count on one hand
Some still know me, some don't; do you understand?
They have been tossed aside also by family and friends
Alone and forsaken, just like odds and ends.

Old age is not the greatest, not by any means these days
Times have changed for the worst, in so many ways.
When I was young, older people got respect and taken care of
The dying were surrounded by family, they could feel the love.

Nowadays, noone has time for you, thats the way it goes
You are just an acquaintance, that everyone knows.
But I guess that is just the way, things were meant to be
Is it just me and my way of thinking, or do you also see?

But as despressing as this may seem to be to you
I have My Lord Jesus, My Saviour to get me through.
Most days are spent, talking to Him in Heaven Above
Someday soon, I will return to Him and the ones that I dearly love!

Dedicated To Our Dear Friend Brenda! We all love you! :)

Mark 12:13
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.

Linda,
I Love this and I know Brenda will also. Now I feel a little different I want to be one of those old spunky ladies that God can still use. And I want to be surrounded by people I Love and be well enough to enjoy the winter of my life!

God Bless You Love Eva

Dear Linda, I shall address each stanza you wrote.
1. Is so true and correct for me.
2. Oh! to think of those wonderful youthful days and the golden memories. My mind still thinks young but my body lets me down. :D
3. Oh! how true, we were all a family and friends and having fun, thinking it would never end. Now we realize so many are gone.
4. What truth you've penned here, more family and friends are deceased than alive, oh, what an empty void it is in our lives. I know God has a plan for me, I hold tightly to His hand and smile as I walk His path.
5. Wow! What a true statement, the friends we can count on one hand. Yes so many are toss aside, as odds and ends and placed where every they are out of the way.
6. Amen!!! A true statement.
7.Yes, many have no time for you and count you as acquaintance. I believe things would have stayed a family and friend unit had God's word been kept and his laws. And yes I see things the way you do Linda.

Linda, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart and soul for this kind and loving poem. I love it, it humbles my heart, bring such happiness to my soul. I appreciate your love and appreciate this magnificent poem.

Love you Linda and all of Hugs members. Brenda
