The Christmas Mouse

The Christmas Mouse

It was Christmas Evening
It was quiet all through the house
Not a creature was stirring
Except for one little mouse

He crawled in the girls room
And whispered in their ears
"I came to tell you something
I'm not here to cause you fear

But Santa is coming here
Though he knows you've been bad
He knows how you're rotten
And don't listen to mom or dad

But Santa is coming to see you
To see if you change your ways
So be good if you can please
Be sure to have him cookies on the tray

You see he'll bring you things
That may not be on your list
Most times he'll surprise you
With things you can only wish

No you're not dreaming now
I'm just a simple little mouse
Just think of me as an Elf
That lives here in your house

Now you both go back to sleep
And remember just what I said
Always be good little girls
And you won't have nothing to fret"

As the girls woke the next morning
They looked everywhere for that mouse
Starting off with their room
Then went all over through the house

As Christmas morning got closer
The girls got better at being good
By cleaning up their room
Putting away toys like they should

Though they are sound asleep
That mouse watches over them each night
Making sure that they behave
So Santa stops there Christmas eve night
