This Thanksgiving
There they sit at the table celebrating
The blessings they've been given
Though they've had many stuggles
They are always happy to have Thankgiving
As the plates are filled up
They bow their heads in prayer
Missing so many other loved one
They could only wish where there
Once the prayers are said
And they all call out "Amen"
Always grateful for all they have
As they eat the food at hand
They know there are others
Homeless with no bed to sleep
Not so lucky in this world
Just praying their souls to keep
Some others don't understand
They're from the "rich" side of town
As they walk past the homeless
They laugh and jester like a clown
some families will take in a few
Invite the homeless in for a meal
Some out of the kindness of their heart
Others do it to brag like its a big deal
But no matter where we are in life
Kindness should not just be one season
But from the love from in your heart
That should be the only reason
So as you sit down to eat
Your big Thanksgiven meal
Try to think of others too
To many go without a single meal
Reach deep inside your soul
What if that was you on the street
Going days without any food at all
Every bite would seem more like a treat
Like the ancesters before us
Be thankful for what we have today
For, you could be on the street tomorrow
Without a friend or any place to stay
So "We thank You Lord for this meal
This one we are about to receive at hand
As we thank you even more everyday
May You bless others as well, AMEN
