A Soilders Dream

Post by Hope » Wed May 21, 2014 9:13 pm

A Soldiers Dream

Quietly he stood on foreign land,
Geared up for battle with a gun in his hand.
Sleeping in places he had never been,
Praying he never had to sleep there again.
Eating whatever could be packed away,
Asking God to please keep him safe today.
He wondered why this even had to be,
God created us all and we were meant to be free.
There were so many lives lost, and broken hearts,
He knew he had to fight and do his part.
His family was always on his mind,
He loved them so much and prayed they’d be fine.
With his head held high he began to walk,
Looking up to God grateful they could talk.
Whatever happens God please watch over me,
So I can make it home to the land of the free.
I want to hug my family and hold them close,
And appreciate the things that mean the most.
This journey has taught me so much it seems,
I don’t need a lot God to fulfill this soldiers dream.

I really liked the other one "Dreams" Eva, but not long enough for a video, but I can work with this one, and especially for Memorial Day. Great poem my friend. Another winner. God bless.
Live today as if it were your last, for tomorrow it will be your past, but live it with peace in mind, joy to find, and for God divine!

Eva, I can feel this poor soldiers prayers as he is scared in a foreign land and shots ringing out over his head. He has realized to be thankful for his great country America and I'm sure many others are praying the same prayer. Heart touching poem. God Bless you and thanks for sharing your beautiful message.
