A Lesson From The Giraffe

When I stiffen my neck, it gets longer:
Longer than my legs.
The rest of me gets puffed up
Till my feet are only pegs.
When I stiffen my neck, I get so tall
I cannot see my feet;
And so, I stumble and fall quite often,
Never a bit discreet.
I cry out to my Maker again:
He comes to the scene of the wreck;
He dusts me off, then says,
"This time, try to keep a short neck."
