MY FRIEND, A MAN

Post by logicalinfo » Fri Jun 10, 2011 4:35 am

MY FRIEND, A MAN

Ladies and Gentleman, May I have your attention please
My Friend, a Man, is down on his knees

His hands are folded and facing the sky
He was born a man and wondering why

My Friend, a Man, is as good as could be
My Friend, a Man, just like you and me

My Friend, a Man, he just doesn't see
Why everyone in this world can't be free

My Friend, a Man, he doesn't understand
The trouble he has across every land

My Friend, a Man, he doesn't realize
The world is different in each man's eyes

He's called a blackie down in the South
Course that depends on his money or maybe his spouse

Down by the border they call him a wetback
Good only for walking the horses at the race track

At the laundry mat he's called a Jap
Chop sticks, chow mien, and afternoon nap

Happy Hanukkah for those everyone calls a Jew
Known only for pinching pennies just like me or you

He's my Friend, it doesn't matter to me
The color of his face or the clothes he wears

The way he speaks or the length of his hair
When I need a Friend, He is always there

You've listened to me a short period of time
Now I want you to listen to this Man, a Friend of mine

IN THE EYES OF GOD WE ARE NOT JUDGED BY WHO WE ARE OR OUR ETHNICITY..
IT IS THAT WE ALL ARE CREATED IN HIS IMAGE !!
MAY WE ALL BE COLORBLIND AND LACK THE THOUGHTS OF JUDGEMENT!!
WHEN WE DO THIS.. GOD CAN DO HIS WORK THROUGH US !!
LOVE THIS POEM !

A very good poem Tess, and so very true. I feel as if I've been touched by an Angel. God bless you.
Live today as if it were your last, for tomorrow it will be your past, but live it with peace in mind, joy to find, and for God divine!
